Leopard and Suede

I love the new Ann Taylor! Since I work at home, most of the clothing is just too corporate for me. But, I did fall in love with their new collection. My favorite was this leopard sheath dress. I'll wear it with grey tights and these Stuart Weitzman grey booties. I love how it's classic with a twist!

Shoes or Boots? Either Way, I love 'em!

Last year, Gwyneth Paltrow photos started popping up with her wearing short dresses and booties, I wasn't really sure about the look. I loved the idea of it--edgy, sophisticated, sexy. But, I wasn't sure I could pull off a look like this.
Well, I figured out how I can do it--tights and a dress that's not quite so short. So, I scoured eBay for a few pairs and found the above, the Jimmy Choo George ankle boot. I figure I could pair it with tights and a cute, not too short dress.
The other pair I bought are Manolo Blahnik. They're a tad funkier, with grommets and straps... but I think they'll look fabulous with some of my more casual skirts.

My It Bag

Love this Marc Jacobs bag.
I'm particularly fond of the Stella handbag. I bought my first one on ebay about 5 years ago. It's black, heavy, big and sturdy. It's always a dicey proposition buying a handbag on ebay since many of them are fake. I got lucky-it was real. Based on that good luck, I started to hunt for another Stella bag recently. I won this one-again on ebay since I can't fathom spending thousands on a handbag. It's butterscotch, a great neutral that's yellowy-tan-perfect for summer and early Fall.

Flower Power

After my grandmother passed away, all her granddaughters were allowed to choose some of her costume jewelry to treasure. While none of it was expensive, it was all sentimental to us. I chose some of my favorite beads as well as several enamel flower brooches. Very mod!
I've noticed that these are plentiful on ebay. What a colorful display.

Pin Me

I have an unhealthy obsession with vintage brooches. I collect them but hardly ever wear them. So, I've made it a goal to start working them into my wardrobe. My first attempt was the other night at a girl's night out. I wore this teal top from Banana Republic and affixed a wonderful lemony-lime stone brooch to the neck. The brooch I used was similar to the above but it was all that lemon color. Easy and fun!

Selling on Ebay

In order to fund my clothing purchases (well, both mine and my daughter's), I sell on ebay.
Normally I only sell my daughter's clothing (like this adorable Potato Saks Flip Flop outfit) and shoes, but I recently cleared out my closet and am selling everything that's too big or that I don't wear anymore. I've got jeans from Earnest Sewn and Joe's as well as some adorable tops from JCrew and Anthropologie. Check out the auctions here.

In Her Room

I put it off for as long as I possibly could (she slept so good in a crib!), but at 3 years old my daughter was ready for a big bed. Her nursery had a Shabby Chic/vintage feel so I wanted to incorporate that same feeling into her first big-girl room. She already had the Stanley Caroline dresser and doll cabinet; so I went with Stanley again for the bed. It's the full size Elizabeth bed.
I kept the curtains, which are the pink silk pottery barn panels but I added pale green/cream/pink tassels down the edge.
I'm not completely happy with the bedding but until I decide to redo her entire room, paint and all, I'm keeping it. The quilt and shams are from the Shabby Chic collection at Target. The duvet is the Elizabeth duvet from Pottery Barn Kids. The big euros were made by my mother in law. Since this picture, I removed the big green throw pillow to make the bed less crowded.
On the shelves behind the bed are vintage Vogue Ginny dolls from the 1950s as well as some antique dolls and doll accessories and a few bluebirds.
I also removed the dress up clothing from the side of the bed and put them in the playroom. It was a little crowded in there!

Speaking of the Statement Necklace

This necklace is totally on my radar right now. However, the seller refused my best offer and I'm not willing to pay the ridiculous price for which it's listed. Oh my...I'll wait it out and see if she comes to her senses later...

Yo, Stella!

I stumbled upon this new company called Stella and Dot and I seriously considered signing up! I LOVE the jewelry, it's totally me: vintage, sparkly and completely fabulous.
While I decided against hosting a party (at least right now), I did place an order for a couple items. However, if the Fall collection is anything like the Spring/Summer, I may just have to host a party in order to avoid breaking the bank.
I'm all about the statement necklace right now!

Banana Republic Rocks

While I do love JCrew, I can't get over the fact that they offer very few discounts, even to loyal customers. Give me some love!
Now, Banana Republic, they've got it going on. I can always count on them for some sort of discount, from the automatic 10% off each purchase if you use your Banana card to the frequent sales and incentives. I spend way more money than I should. Sorry JCrew, if you offered the same rewards, I'd be snapping things up weekly.
I'm loving this dress from Banana right now.

Ebay Obsessed

Why, oh why, did I have to check out Ebay today? Right now on my watch list, this adorable green satin bag from JCrew.
